Fostering local community groups is among the goals of IONS, our parent organization:

• Activating the intelligence and wisdom of the living organism of IONS members, friends, and colleagues by seeding, strengthening and enlivening a larger web of connectedness, participation and learning.

Because they comprise individuals from many different backgrounds, each community group has its own identity, focus, or mission. The Lawrence group focuses on the science of consciousness and life.
