Members of the Lawrence IONS group are focused on developing a general theory of consciousness, without which we can't expect to realize IONS' main goal of a Global Mind Change.

In pursuit of our goal, we've been studying the many aspects of consciousness, including life itself, to identify all the phenomena a general theory of consciousness must explain.
